How we build kids through play

Therapy Process

Developmental Assessments

Comprehensive evaluations to identify developmental delays and/or areas of difficulty. This assists in creating an individualized treatment plan to address specific areas of need for each child.

Feedback Session With Parents / Caregivers
Individual Therapy Sessions

An in-depth feedback session with the parents or caregivers is an important part of the developmental assessment process. This session provides an opportunity to discuss the assessment results in detail, address any concerns or questions, and collaborate on creating a plan for the child's development.

Individual interactive therapy sessions are an integral part of the treatment plan, lasting 45 minutes to an hour each..

These sessions provide a safe and supportive environment for babies and children to develop skills and explore their thoughts and emotions.

Skills Addressed in Therapy

Visual Motor and Perceptual Skills

Activities to improve the coordination between visual input and motor output, which are essential for tasks like reading and writing.

Fine Motor Skills Development

Activities and exercises designed to improve the coordination and strength of small muscles in the hands and fingers, crucial for tasks like writing, buttoning clothes, and using utensils.

Gross Motor Skills Development

Interventions aimed at improving large muscle group coordination, strength, and balance. This is important for activities such as sitting, walking, running, and jumping.

Self-Care Skills

Guidance and practice in daily living skills such as getting dressed, grooming, feeding and using the toilet. This helps children become more independent in their self-care routines.

Handwriting Skills

Activities and exercises focused on improving handwriting skills, including the correct/functional grip, correct letter formation and overall writing fleuncy.

Play Skills Development

Structured and unstructured activities that promote social interaction, problem-solving, and creativity. This is essential for children’s social, cognitive, and emotional development.

Primitive Reflex Integration

Primitive reflexes help babies survive, thrive and develop new skills. These reflexes are involuntary. Most reflexes are replaced by voluntary movements by the age of 6 months. Reflex integration means that the reflex should disappear. If reflexes do not disappear, it may cause problems with further development for e.g. having difficulty balancing, poor posture, poor eye-hand coordination, poor attention, etc.

School Readiness and Academic Support

Activities to develop the skills needed for school success, including attention, organization, fine motor skills for writing and sensory regulation to manage classroom behaviours.,

Sensory Integration

Techniques to help children with sensory processing difficulties to better interpret and respond to sensory stimuli. This can involve activities that address sensitivity to touch, sound, movement and other sensory inputs.
